Sensational soft rock artists Chicago and The Doobie Brothers are bringing their signature sounds to the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre!
Chicago was formed in Chicago in 1967 by saxophonist Walter Parazaider, guitarist Terry Kath, drummer Danny Seraphine, trombonist James Pankow, trumpet player Lee Loughnane, and keyboardist/singer Robert Lamm. Walter, Kath, James, Lee, and Danny were students at DePaul University at the time while Robert was studying at Roosevelt University. They called themselves The Big Thing and recruited local tenor and bassist Peter Cetera to complete the line up. They started their musical journey as cover band playing top 40 hits and Walter once met Jimi Hendix who said, “Jeez, your horn players are like one set of lungs and your guitar player is better than me.” They started working on original material and it wasn’t long before they got a record deal. They changed their name to Chicago Transit Authority and released their eponymous debut album in 1969. It was certified Platinum (a million copies sold) just 1 year after its release and they decided to shorten their name to Chicago. The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Robert, Lee, James, Walter, Tris Imboden (drums), Keith Howland (guitar, vocals), Lou Pardini (keyboards, lead vocals), Walfredo Reyes Jr. (percussion), and Jeff Coffey (bass, acoustic guitar, lead vocals).
Don’t miss your chance to see these bands add a unique touch to soft rock music!
